International Yoga Day at H.A.P.S.
Hillwoods Academy Primary School, Noida, celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June2025 with enormous zeal and enthusiasm. The event aimed to inspire students and staff toembrace yoga as a way of life for physical fitness, mental well-being, and spiritual growth.The program began with a warm welcome address, highlighting the importance of yoga as apractice that unites body, mind, and spirit. A meaningful shloka was recited to invoke peace andharmony: “ॐ सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः, सर्वे सन्तु निरामयाः।सर्वे भद्राणि पश्यन्तु, मा कश्चिद्दुःखभाग्भवेत्।ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः॥” Meaning:“May all be happy, may all be healthy, may all see what is auspicious, may no one suffer. Letthere be peace, peace, peace.” The headmistress madam addressed the gathering, underlining the relevance of yoga inbuilding a healthy and balanced life. Headmistress Madam read out Director Sir’s message forthis special day, in which he shared his heartfelt thoughts on yoga as a sacred union of body,mind, and soul. He beautifully described yoga as “prayer in motion” and “SEVA” and spoke ofthe school’s vision of nurturing not just achievers but aware, compassionate, and resilientcitizens through practices like yoga, gymnastics, and rock climbing. His words deeply inspiredthe entire Hillwoods community to embrace yoga as a journey of self-awareness and service.The celebration continued with a thoughtfully conducted yoga session where various asanaswere demonstrated, along with explanations of their benefits. This was followed by a vibrantgymnastics demo, showcasing strength and flexibility, and an exciting rock-climbing demo,encouraging students to build courage and resilience.A slogan-writing contest on the theme “Yoga for Well-being” was announced, inviting studentsto express their thoughts creatively. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressinggratitude to all who contributed to making the celebration a meaningful and memorableexperience.
